ProBiz 2008 is nationally recognized as the premier small and minority business procurement opportunity conference. This one-day event is co-sponsored by the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development, the Booker T. Washington Foundation, African American Chamber of Commerce of Montgomery County, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Montgomery County and the National Business League of Greater Washington. ProBiz'08 brings together small businesses with key procurement officials, financing resources, powerful information seminars, exhibits and leading policy decision-makers. This year's conference is expected to attract over 300 attendees from the Mid-Atlantic region. Key representatives from local jurisdictions and independent entities exhibit their programs and procurement opportunities. ProBiz'08 encourages major federal agencies to participate in seminars and exhibits. ProBiz 2008 is held August 1, 2008 at the Hilton Hotel in Silver Spring, MD. Friday morning registration begins at 8:00 am with a full day of workshops, displays, contract financing, government marketing intelligence, procurement opportunities and global trading with Africa, the Caribbean and South American countries continues through until 5:00 pm. At 12:00 noon the Federal Advocacy Awards Luncheon will recognize MBDA National Director, Ronald Langston, Tracey Pinson, US Army, James House, US Department of Agriculture, and Felipe Mendoza, General Services Administration, leading national advocates for small business. The evening ProBiz'08 Regional Advocacy Awards Banquet will recognize DeVance Walker, Montgomery County, Thomas “Mike” Turner, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, Floyd Wilson, Prince George's County, DC City Councilmember Kwame Brown and Joanne Jackson, Anne Arundel County, for their efforts to insure success for small businesses.

WHAT
IS PROBIZ 2008?
The Annual ProBiz 2008 is the Most Significant Small and Minority Business Procurement Opportunity Conference in the Mid-Atlantic region. This event is designed to increase the success rate of new job creation by healthy small businesses. Special opportunities for small, minority, women-owned, hub zone, service disabled veterans and others will be presented. Local and state programs for opportunities reserved for small businesses will be highlighted by local experts. Small businesses will learn how to increase revenues and major organizations will improve their productivity by expanding their “preferred vendor” list. Many cross-cultural business relationships will be developed among competent business owners.
